What's New For 2024?
The 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD is getting a midcycle refresh for the new model year. Some changes include a revised front fascia with newly available LED headlights and taillights with sequential turn signals. Among the more significant changes are a revised powertrain with more towing capacity and an all-new trim.The new trim, the Denali Ultimate, offers greater luxury than the Denali tier, adding leather-wrapped door panels, steering wheel, and 16-way power-adjustable front seats. The front seats also have intricate leather stitching and offer heated and cooled messaging.
As for the powertrain update, GMC is enhancing its Duramax turbocharged diesel V-8's power and torque. Now this powertrain can output 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque, respectively. With the increase in power, the towing capacity for models with this engine has increased to 22,500 pounds.
Additional changes include replacing the gas-powered V-8 with an Allison-certified 10-speed automatic transmission and adding more standard driver-assist features.

This engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear- or four-wheel drive.For even greater power, Duxbury drivers can purchase the new optional Duramax diesel 6.6-liter V-8 that outputs 470 hp and 975 pounds of torque. This powertrain will use an Allison-certified 10-speed automatic transmission and can be mounted under a single- or dual-rear-wheel axle.
With this much power, it's no wonder the Sierra 3500 HD is such a powerhouse. When properly equipped with a diesel engine, regular cab, rear-wheel drive, dual-rear-wheel axle, and a gooseneck hitch, this pickup can carry its max payload of 36,000 pounds. Though with only a fifth wheel hitch, the capacity drops to 32,000 pounds.
Technology
Every 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD has a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Base models offer a seven-inch display with dual USB jacks and rotary knobs, and physical buttons that are easily accessible.The larger eight-inch touchscreen can be upgraded with built-in navigation, a Bose audio system, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a rear-seat entertainment system. With the massive 13.4-inch monitor, Plymouth shoppers will get features like Google Built-in and split-screen navigation.
Other features include a smartphone app that remotely controls trailer functions and different trailer profiles allowing users to store data to monitor maintenance.
