Marty's GMC, at 5 Kingston Collection Way, Kingston, MA 02364, (781) 936-0081, serves truck buyers in Kingston, the South Shore and Cape Cod.
GMC calls it the next-generation Sierra: bigger V8s, more power from the base engine, a much bigger screen on the base Pro and new off-road hardware on the AT4X. Here's what changed from the 2026 model.
A 5.7L V8 (402 HP, 428 lb-ft) takes the place of the 5.3L, and a 6.6L V8 (481 HP, 501 lb-ft) takes the place of the 6.2L. GMC calls the 6.6L the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in its class.
The base Pro now gets a 16.3" diagonal touchscreen (the 2026 Pro had a 7" screen). Elevation adds a class-exclusive articulating center screen with hidden storage, and AT4X and Denali Ultimate add an 11.5" passenger display.
Front and rear cameras that show what's under the truck, each with a lens wash. GMC says they're first in class. Standard on AT4X and Denali Ultimate.
Two Sierra firsts: a panoramic sunroof (available on Elevation and AT4, standard on AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate) and the MultiPro Center Console with integrated storage.

Both new V8s get a new throttle body, a new dual fuel injection system, a modified compression ratio and more displacement, which GMC says improves power and efficiency. Every engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic, and the Sierra offers up to six drive modes, including Tow/Haul and the new My Mode. EPA fuel economy for 2027 has not been published.

EPA fuel economy for the 2027 Sierra 1500 has not been published yet. The one figure GMC has shared is for the diesel: a GM-estimated 27 mpg highway for a 2WD Sierra with the 3.0L Duramax, which gives more than 900 miles of highway range with the new available 34-gallon tank. GMC says the new V8s' new throttle body, dual fuel injection and compression ratio improve efficiency, but it has not published their mpg.
Maximum payload is 2,320 lbs (Regular Cab, standard bed, RWD), 2,230 lbs (Regular Cab, long bed, RWD), 2,040 lbs (Double Cab, standard bed, 4WD), 2,020 lbs (Crew Cab, short bed) and 1,950 lbs (Crew Cab, standard bed, 4WD). Payload varies with equipment, engine, drive type and lift.
